The primary function of the Residential Treatment Counselor is to help develop and maintain a therapeutic environment for the children in their care.
This involves creating opportunities for corrective emotional experiences and socialization as well as fostering relationships which promote development and growth.
Bachelors degree in psychology, social work, education or related human services field.
Must have a basic understanding of behavioral management techniques and milieu therapy.
Preference given to candidates who have worked with children in a group setting, preferably special needs population.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
