Software Engineer 2
PayPal, Inc. seeks, Software Engineer 2 in Timonium, Maryland.
Job Duties:
Define, design, and implement complex, multi-tier distributed software applications. Segment and design system layers to support componentized and layered application development, including user interface, business logic functionality, and database and component repository access. Work with engineers, managers, Product Management, Quality Assurance, and Operations teams to develop innovative solutions that meet market needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules, and adherence to development goals and principles. Design, code, and test complex features, and lead small project teams. Identify and make recommendations to reduce project risks. Share release management duties on feature rollouts, share on-call responsibilities. Lead project involving cross vertical integration. Locate and help fix performance, scalability, and other live issues in a time critical environment. Utilize knowledge and experience with scalable framework design; software development designing; and implementing scalable, fault tolerant components.
Minimum Requirements:
Masters degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering or closely related quantitative discipline and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or two (2) years of experience as a programmer analyst or software engineer or Bachelors degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering or closely related quantitative discipline and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of progressively responsible experience as a programmer analyst or software engineer.

Experience must include the following:
Utilize knowledge and experience with developing webs service-driven software in Java 6, 7; RESTful web services; Maven; Oracle; Spring; Hibernate; JAXWS; Unix Shell Scripting; JMS; Jenkins; Tomcat. Any suitable combination of education, training and experience is acceptable.
